I can see your halo

I came home at 8:30 tonight, (from a 10 hour day of work in which I almost, very nearly, cried in the first hour of this morning), to a delicious home cooked meal and a clean house. All praise goes to that sweet husband of mine.

He is wonderful.

Just in case song lyrics could let you in on the feelings and emotions of our marriage at this current point in time, I've provided these music videos for your insight into our lives.

One of the songs that reminds me of my husband's angel qualities and that I frequently jam out to in the car:

"Halo" by Beyounce

And one of the songs that describes me perfectly and the way I constantly fail miserably to show him how much I adore him and to straighten out my act {I mean seriously, I never thought "Pink" and I had much in common, but the girl's got me pegged with this little ditty}:

"Please Don't Leave Me" by Pink

I chose the videos with the lyrics... they're my favorite. Especially for those songs you love, but have the verses you can't quite make out and end up making up your own words for that verse like "Slide j'me cus turtle bird in the sky is what's up yo...".

You do that too, right? I know I'm not the only one.

The happily married,

  1. I TOTALLY mess the lyrics up all the time! My husband will catch me and ask, "What did you just say?" Then, I'm embarrassed to repeat them because I know they were WAY off! Glad I'm not the only one.

    Enjoy reading your blog.

  2. I just had to share a messed up lyric story. I (when I was 5) thought that Tina Turner's song "What's Love Got to do with it" said "What's love cock-a-doo, cock-a-doo with it." Yes, like a chicken. I'm not even going to tell you how long it took me to realize I was wrong.

I'm not going to lie - I still seriously mess up lyrics, but that takes my Best of All Time award.

Congrats on the wonderful hubby by the way!
