Yankee Stadium!
No, we didn’t get to see a game there and we’re not fans {Go Reds!}, but being married to a baseball sports fanatic means at least taking a tour.
Even if it means taking the subway to the Bronx…
We got to tour the Yankees museum, which even for me, was pretty cool.
One of Babe Ruth’s jerseys, people!
Lou Gehrig’s jersey and paraphernalia.
Yogi Berra and yours truly as the ump.
The Yankees most recent World Series trophy.
A mini mock-up of the stadium.
A tribute to the late, great George Steinbrenner in monument park.
Remembering September 11th.
The field was setup for, get this… football. So we didn’t get to see it in it’s true form.
Not that I see a lot of difference besides no infield and some goal posts put up – you could still play a baseball game there, right?
They were hosting a Notre Dame football game there soon as well as some Army/Navy games.
A special plus that’s not usually on the tour – the press box!
Being a dork and pretending to use the phone in the press box…
Even for a non sporty girl, I was amazed with the tour of the Yankee’s new stadium.
Glad my husband made me do it!
{FYI, at this pace, I’m going to have near 20 NYC chapters – I’ll try to speed it up a bit!}
=)
Happy Weekend!
Looks like you had a great time!!!

ReplyDeleteMy husband would love that tour too! He is a total sports nut, particularly baseball, which he plays and coaches! I just stumbled on your blog and was drawn in because I am a brown eyed girl, he is a blue eyed boy, and we have a little Yorkie dog like the picture up top! Cute blog!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Yankees fan either but being a baseball fan I'd love to see Yankee Stadium. I took of tour of the Padres park & it was really neat to see all the behind the scenes stuff.
