FYI - Magic Kingdom - Help for Haiti!

I hope you don't mind - but I've still got a little more Disney to cover from our trip. If this blog is the only "scrapbooking" I'll ever get done, then I've got to finish with a few more of our favorite photos and highlights of the trip.

Before I do though... it seems my comments section has become more of a questions section lately and I love it. I know if at least one person posts a question, there's gotta be at least one other person out there wondering the same thing. If you weren't wondering - just consider it a FYI for that useless information section of your brain.

For Your Information:

"Joel and Cindy" asked: What exactly do you do? I know you work in a pharmacy, but why all the traveling? Just curious :)

My answer: I'm a traveling pharmacist for CVS, a.k.a. "a floater pharmacist". I get my schedule about a week ahead of time for the upcoming week detailing the CVS stores I need to fill-in at for other pharmacists who are sick, on vacation, maternity leave, etc. The region of CVS I'm in includes 20-something stores and spans several hundred miles, so I could be anywhere on any given day. Simply, I'm the "substitute teacher" of pharmacists! There's many perks to the job, but the major downfall, for me at least, is being away from home. For now though, I'm enjoying the perks and extra pay that I wouldn't be privilaged to working day-in and day-out at your normal pharmacy. I am certainly blessed!

"3LittleByrds" asked: I love your Hendrix. He is just so cute. What kind of dog is he?

My answer: He's the sweetest, most precious "PomaPoo" ever! {PomaPoo definition: a cross between a pomeranian and a toy poodle. One of the "designer mixes" people are breeding these days or if you're of the old school - he's a total mutt!}

I'm not a big supporter of breeders, especially pet-shop pups when you can't be sure they're not from one of those horrific puppy mills, so I was shopping PetFinder.com for a sweet pound puppy to adopt. Lo-and-behold, a designer sweetheart in need of rescue. You can find absoultely ANY full-bred dog of your choice in a rescue facility on the net - please try there first the next time you have your heart set on a specific dog. If not in need of a certain breed, go get the mutt that melts your heart. I promise, they're the best!

The next was not a question, but a comment on my last post about how I was "freezing" after our furnace quit and it was 63 degrees and falling in our house. This really cracked me up and made me laugh about my wimpy tendencies. In my defense - it was the coldest 63 I've ever felt! I really don't think the thermostat was giving a proper reading. Since when do you need to wear several layers of clothing in 63 degrees?? {Our heat is fixed and back on now, thank God!}

"Colleen" commented: OK, I'm saying LOL to your 63 degrees, even though I know you don't think its funny. 63 degrees is what we set our heat on during the day--and we live in Wisconsin =)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Shame on me!

The last questions lead me back to what I originally set out to post about today...

"Brit" asked: What hotel did ya'll stay at? How was the flight and all the travels with the recent high security alerts at airports that have occurred through the Holidays?

My answers: We stayed at the Hilton at Lake Buena Vista, part of the Walt Disney World Resorts.

Not an impressive place, but a nice hotel none-the-less. A perk to staying in Disney's resort was using their shuttle systems to the parks. We would have had to taxi ($$$) or rent a car, so it seemed like the economical choice. The shuttles also passed every car waiting in line to get into the parks, who were all backed up for miles, as well as allowing us to get into the parks on New Years Eve when the cars that waited hours to get in were turned away due to being at over capacity. Nice! {Well, not nice for the cars...}

As for security in the airports - especially with the heightened level orange and the holidays - it wasn't bad at all! Cincinatti airport was much less busy than Orlando's of course, so there was a bit more of a line getting back, but I was expecting worse.

I must say though, that I thought security looked the same as always and I don't find that very reassuring. I was even a tad worried. I won't go into detail about what happened in my specific situation {ya know, just in case, I wouldn't want to give away any details to help the one terrorist who reads my blog on a daily basis with his morning coffee - ha} but I was severely dissapointed in the lack of concern or even the workers who ignored normal procedures because our plane was in a hurry to board. We were already boarding an hour later than scheduled and I would have gladly waited even longer to ensure our safety and national security.

I'll get off my soap box now.

Onto our day at the Magic Kingdom!
We had to ride the monorail to get to this park:

...so Ashley and I passed the time on our white iPhones with identical fuscia covers.
hehe
Dorks!

I'm of course a little dorkier becuase I'm still wearing my poncho from the morning rain.

Jon went to a LSU football game this day so Ashley and I took "couple" pics together =)

Yumm-O and SUPER cute.

I'm not sure which face is worse:

Sounds silly - but we LOVED the teacups.
We three adults fit terribly inside one and Nick made it turn really fast.
It all was absurd and tons of fun!

I've got to look into getting some of these "Vegetable Pills" in the pharmacy.
Looks like they take care of pretty much everything...

I've got a hundred more pictures of Cinderella's castle where these came from - it was gorgeous.

Seriously, the lights were phenomenal.

I'm ready to move in with my prince charming!

Our friends, Jon & Ashley

I have no idea if my early obsession with watching Cinderalla increased my awe of the castle {my parents use to speak often of how I would watch the VHS, promptly rewind, and watch it again, for the 8th time that day...}, but I did not want to leave this place! The lights, the musically choreographed fireworks, watching cuddled up with my prince... it was all too much for my heart.

What a very special night it was.

Nick also caught the entire fireworks show on video and I plan to rewatch them very soon.

Thanks for making it through another wrap-up of Disney!
Only one more to go!

P.S. My heart is so heavy for Haiti at this time that I almost put off putting this happyhappy post on the blog. I have no brilliant ways to help except to pray and direct you to these woderful ladies' sites who are helping people help Haiti. If you are like me, you feel so far away and so helpless, but if nothing else PRAY♥PRAY♥PRAY and give if you have it.

I was the same way with my disney movies as a kid except it was Little Mermaid, I loved areial and am not ashamed to say I have a sun dress and button down with Aerial on them from the disney store! I also have several jewelry pieces from the disney couture line....I think Disney is better as a grown up than it was as a kid!It looks like you had so much fun on your trip!

  2. Ok since you're answering questions posted in your comments section, I was wondering...
    what make-up do you use for your foundation/bronzer/cover up and your mascara? Or do you just have the longest eye-lashes known to man naturally? (Cause they're GORGEOUS!!!!)

  8. Thanks for answering my question. I was surprised when I was reading it. :) Looks like yall had a great time at the MK and it is hard to leave. It's a magical place. My little ones as soon as we get in the car to head home from there are already asking me when we're coming back. We've stayed at that Hilton before for a short weekend trip there but we usually stay on property. Love the perks.

  9. Aww! I love Disney. We've been going since I was tiny and it never, ever gets old. We had a similar experience on the teacups last time we went. :) We were supposed to go this summer but had to cancel...sad face. Maybe next year.

    Your dog is stinkin adorable. Agreed about the rescue animals--we rescued a kitty from a shelter and I swear she knows it.

    I'm new to your blog, but the fact that you love Disney, you're a pharmacist (my husband is one, too), AND you're not afraid to include beautiful scripture makes me instantly like it!

I just shared my thoughts, I'd love to hear you share yours! {Besides, I'm tired of listening to the voices in my head.} I kid, I kid... ;)
