…but I thought I’d let you in on the situation we’ve found ourselves in since Friday
and the reason why I’ll be away from my blogging post for just a bit longer.
It seems we’ve found ourselves holed up in this place:
With absolutely nothing to do but stare out the window,
feed ourselves mindlessly,
and walk around town in search of something to do.
As a last resort, we attempted to drown our sorrows in the sun and surf,
and when that didn’t work, we attempted to drown our sorrows in the resort’s pool and cabana area.
To lighten the mood, we even got ourselves a couples massage… which turned out to be dreadfully relaxing and only left us longing for more.
With all of the boredom, we even got up early, just once, so as not to miss God’s masterpiece rising up over the Atlantic and into the Fort Lauderdale sky.
Cross your fingers we find at least a little piece of happiness while away ;)
Wish you were here! ♥
P.S. – my husband did advise me against posting our “away” status for safety issues, but we were actually lucky enough to have a house sitter this time around and a pretty nice security system – both of which I felt should be enough to calm anyone’s fears. A security system that we installed, not because of worries over any valuables being stolen, but because it detects fire - should the worst happen while we’re away to work, the proper authorities will be contacted… hopefully saving our fur-child!!!!
{Seriously… for me, this was the only logical reason for installing such. I can’t imagine the over bearing and terribly worrisome mother I will become over our future unborn real children.}
Should anyone want to tear past those safeguards to get to my fancied up and repainted goodwill finds and recycled trash to treasure trinkets that fill the rooms of our house or even my very expensive sam moon jewelry… well, good luck to your profit making endeavors! =) ha!

ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having an absolutely dreadful time. I hope you're able to cope when you go back home. ;o)
ReplyDeleteGood that you're being safe though, Stef... seriously, we were robbed last summer. And we were IN THE HOUSE! and it sucked a lot when they stole our worthless cheap crap cause it was OUR worthless cheap crap... so I'm glad you have security, a dog and a house sitter for other reasons than just fire safety.

ReplyDeleteSaw your post on Kelly's Korner, we just went to Ft Lauderdale for spring break and loved it. we are already planning another trip back soooo I was wondering where you stayed and if you would stay in that place again. we stayed at Marriot Harbor beach Resort and Spa..It was fabulous, but if you don't have Marriot Rewards it can be pricey..Thanks Jolyn
