Been working with these guys. I had no idea it would take 3 of them. Three separate cans of paint, three separate trips out to buy can after can. Who knew such a small piece of furniture would require so much? And in case you should need to know, the guy in the middle... well, he should be fired. Don't use him if you plan on doing any of this type of work in your own garage. Mmmm, Kay?
It really cracks me up that I thought I would go out Saturday morning, buy a can of spray paint, *bing*bang*boom*, get the job done and post the pictures by Saturday night for your viewing pleasure. I WISH.
After a fourth can to finish with a coat of clear sealer, our new old coffee table moved into it's new home. {Based on the little table's age, he's probably getting a little fed up with moving into home after home...}
With this new addition, our little blue, zen family room is very nearly finished!
Sorry, the pictures I took turned out a little dark. When I tried to lighten them on my computer, they kinda sorta got washed out. I chose the "washed out" look over the "dark".
The washed out wall to the right will be the final piece to this puzzle when I decide how to decorate it.
I think Regis and Kelly really liked the room too:
As the seasons change, so will this room. I'm gonna have some real fun with it =) We spend most of our time in here, it's the least I can do to keep it up to date for the holidays. It will be a challenge to work in the warm colors of fall and Christmas with the blue, but I'm up for it.

In the beginning, Nick suggested brown for the coffee table and I agreed.
I went out to buy brown, contemplated a sage green similar to the muted green in the rug, then came home with a can of white.

Think I could find a miniature tropical Santa Clause to put atop the sail boat?
P.S. I'm so excited that y'all are so excited about the giveaway! I had no idea it would go over so well. I'm loving all the comments and so happy to welcome a few new followers. Welcome friends!

ReplyDeleteI love the blue you chose for this room! I think the white was a good way to go, given what you've got going on in the room. I have a coffee table to paint, too {mine will be black}. I also picture it going "bing, bang, boom" and pictures up, but I'm sure that won't be the case.
