1961 Grew on Daddy-O so much he decided to get his own. Not as "Cattish" as mine, but still super rad.
1973. Can you dig it?
Mid-70's. What can I say? We were the original funksters. We had to get up extra early each morning just to make sure our fro's were perfectly fro'd out. I can't even tell you how many times Nick had to help me get a pick unstuck from this head of hair...
'78. Jimmy Carter was president and we grew up and out of the fro. Dyn-o-mite! '80. Why do I suddenly have a craving for mushrooms?
'82. Perms were all the rage and we weren't about to be square pegs.
1986. Being in Eastern Kentucky, the newest styles came around at least 3 years after the rest of the country. Michael Jackson's 1982 hit Thriller was just making it's way to Pikeville. #1 Fans!
1993. Never looked better. Judging by my pic, I think this is when "Glamour Shots" became cool. We thought we were da' bomb.
'95. Nick's mullet motto: business in the front, party in the back. Me, still perming. I think the last piece of fried hair from this decade of damage finally grew out last summer.
We partied like it was 1999. Too many hoho's and cheeseburgers for Nick this year, too much bleach for me. Hindsight is 20/20.
My stars, how the years fly by!
1961-STEPH MUST HAVE HAD "DIPPITY DO"
ReplyDeleteIN HER HOUSE! 1978 - DID YOU TWO USE CLAIROL FROM THE SAME BOX?
1982 - WHEW!!!! 1986 - THERE ARE SOME ADVANTAGES TO LIVING IN A "BEHIND THE TIMES TOWN." WE ONLY HAD TO SEE THIS STYLE FOR A SHORT TIME!1995 - MY FAVORITE! I ALWAYS TOLD NICK HE SHOULD LET HIS HAIR GROW. STEPH, YOU'RE ADORABLE! MAKES ME WONDER WHAT OUR GRANDKIDS WILL LOOK LIKE!
